PM Modi urges urban cities to observe ‘river festivals’ to spread awareness of water utilisation

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing the inaugural ceremony of several development projects in Pune, Maharashtra, on March 06 urged the urban cities to observe ‘river festivals’ to spread awareness among people regarding the proper utilisation of water. “I will urge urban cities to observe 'river festivals' that will help spread awareness among people regarding the proper utilisation of water,” said the Prime Minister. “Pune is known for green fuel, to reduce dependence on crude oil from foreign countries we are focusing on ethanol production. We have established the centres for that in Pune which will benefit farmers too,” he added.
