Ex-IPS officer says former govt used to let off criminals

Former IPS officer Asim Arun joined the BJP on Sunday in the presence of Union Minister Anurag Thakur and BJP UP president Swatantra Dev Singh.Speaking to India Today after being inducted into the saffron party, Asim Arun said, “Under the previous government, I used to get calls saying a certain criminal who was arrested is trying to improve. Party workers would come and sit down in the police station. They would give a signal, and many times, we were directed to let the criminal off."
