Rising violence at Rochester youth prison comes after insufficient efforts to tackle discrimination
  • 2 years ago
A report has found a rise in violence at a youth prison in Rochester is due to failures to identify discrimination.

The HM Chief Inspector of Prisons said it had deteriorated to poor since its last inspection in 2019.

The institution holds 87 boys and when last inspected, concerns were raised that the outcomes for children were not sufficiently good.
