Gujarat HC Comes Down Heavily On Ahmedabad Civic Authorities Over Their Action Against Non-Veg Food Item Sellers

On December 9, the Gujarat High Court slammed the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation for its drive against street cart vendors selling non-vegetarian food. The Gujarat HC asked, “What is your problem?” The court added, “You don't like non-vegetarian food? That is your lookout.” The court also said, “Tomorrow they will say I should not have sugarcane juice because it causes diabetes? Or coffee because it is bad for health?” The High Court blasted the corporation as food vendors approached the court following the AMC’s recent campaign to stop selling non-vegetarian food.
