For many years now, Dadarao Bilhore has been touring the streets of Mumbai – always carrying a and bags of sand. Ever since his son died when his motorbike hit a pothole, Bilhore wants to protect other families from this fate. There are over 10,000 potholes in Mumbai’s streets, and if Dadarao Bilhore could fill them all, he would. In July 2015, as floods ravaged the city, Dadarao’s 16-year-old son died in a motorcycle accident on a severely damaged road. Immediately, the grieving father set to work fixing the pavement and saving lives. He’s filled more than 600 potholes to date, and his work is far from finished.
