Former Union Minister Babul Supriyo, who resigned from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and joined All India Trinamool Congress (TMC), met Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on October 19 and formally submitted his resignation as the BJP MP. “My heart is heavy as my political career began through BJP. I'd left politics wholeheartedly. I thought that if I'm not a part of the party, I shouldn't keep seat for myself,” said Supriyo.
