Jagadguru Paramhans Acharya Maharaj of the ascetic cantonment of Ayodhya city has been placed under house arrest, in fact he recently demanded the central government to declare India as a 'Hindu nation'.He had said that if India is not declared a Hindu nation by October 2, then he will take a water samadhi in the Saryu river of Ayodhya. In view of the announcement of Paramhans Acharya Maharaj to take water samadhi on saturday, hence the police in Ayodhya has placed him under house arrest.

Ayodhya शहर के तपस्‍वी छावनी के Jagadguru Paramhans Acharya Maharaj को house arrest कर लिया गया है, दरअसल हाल ही में उन्होंने केंद्र सरकार से भारत को 'हिंदू राष्‍ट्र' घोषित करने की मांग की थी। उन्‍होंने कहा था कि अगर 2 अक्टूबर तक भारत को हिन्दू राष्ट्र घोषित नहीं किया जाता है तो वो अयोध्या की सरयू नदी में जल समाधि ले लेंगे। Paramhans Acharya Maharaj ने शनिवार को जल समाधि लेने के ऐलान को देखते हुए अयोध्या में पुलिस ने उनको घर में ही नजरबंद कर दिया है।
