बदलते जमाने के साथ लोगों की सोच और शोक भी बदल रहे हैं। वो जमाना गया जब केवल पुरुष ही बॉडी बिल्डर होते थे, अब तो महिलाएं भी इस मामले में बाजी मार रही हैं। विमिन बॉडीबिल्डर अब देश ही नहीं दुनिया में भी अपना नाम कमा रही हैं। आज हम आपको भारत की पहली महिला बॉडीबिल्डर के बारे में बताने जा रहे हैं, जो ताकत के मामले में एक सामान्य इंसान से कहीं ज़्यादा है। महाराष्ट्र के रायगढ़ ज़िले से आने वाली अश्विनी वास्कर का पारिवारिक कारोबार मछली पकड़ने से जुड़ा था लेकिन फिर उन्हें बॉडी बिल्डिंग का भूत ऐसा चढ़ा कि फिर उतरा ही नहीं। वह भारत की पहली प्रतिभागी हैं, जिन्होंने बॉडीबिल्डिंग प्रतियोगिताओं में भाग लिया था। वह अब तक 8 राष्ट्रीय और अंतर्राष्ट्रीय बॉडीबिल्डिंग प्रतियोगिताओं में हिस्सा ले चुकी हैं। हालांकि ये रास्ते उनके लिए आसान नहीं था। अश्विनी बताती हैं कि मुझे सबसे बड़ी दिक्कत थी बिकनी पहनने को लेकर लेकिन अब इसकी आदत हो गई है। अश्विनी के पिता, बालचंद्र वास्कर को भी पहले छोटे कपड़े पहनकर प्रतियोगिता में हिस्सा लेने से एतराज़ था, बाद में अश्विनी ने उन्हें मना लिया और समझाया ये कपड़े प्रतियोगिता के लिए ज़रूरी हैं।
