SC Collegium recommended the names to the central government late on August 17. The list includes three women judges, along with B V Nagarathna from the Karnataka High Court. B V Nagarathna, if promoted, could become the first woman CJI of the country in 2027. Justice Bela Trivedi & Justice Hima Kohli are the other two women judges in the list of recommendations. “We have the interest of women in our minds, and we are implementing it best. There is no attitude change in us. The only thing is we have to get good candidates,” SA Bobde, former Chief Justice of India had said.
