Artists stage protest in Mumbai, demand reopening of theatres
  • 3 years ago
Theater artists on August 09 gathered at Mumbai’s Hindmata area, demanding the government to reopen theatres. Actor Vijay Patkar joined the protesters and said that with other activities being permitted by the government such as films, bus, trains, hotels and offices, theaters should also be allowed to reopen.

He further said that the artists won’t need any help from the government; they just want to be allowed to work so that they can earn a living like everyone else. Vijay Patkar was later detained and taken to Bhoiwada Police Station along with few others from the protest.
