Tamil Nadu: Stalin announces reopening of liquor shops in 27 districts

The Opposition parties in Tamil Nadu have criticised Chief Minister MK Stalin for reopening state-owned TASMAC liquor shops in 27 districts, including the state capital Chennai, and called him out for protesting against a similar move last year when his party DMK was in the opposition.

The Tamil Nadu government on June 11 extended the state-wide lockdown till June 21 and announced some relaxations in Covid-19 curbs. The government also gave relaxation to state-owned TASMAC liquor shops at 27 districts to remain open from 10 am to 5 pm.
