Variety's awards experts break down this year's SAG Awards nominees for Outstanding Female Actor in a Leading Role and Outstanding Female Actor in a Supporting Role.

Nominations for Leading Role include Carey Mulligan for her ferocious portrayal in "Promising Young Woman" and Viola Davis, one of the most nominated Black women in SAG Awards history, for her role in "Ma Rainey's Black Bottom." Nominations in the Supporting category include notable breakout Maria Bakalova for "Borat Subsequent Moviefilm" and the year's youngest nominee twelve-year-old Helena Zengel for her role in "News of the World."
