Bs. As .: The Chief of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Horacio Tomas Liendo, inaugurates the Antarctic summer campaign 1980/81, arranged by the military committee. The ceremony takes place in front of the Admiral Irizar Icebreaker, and was attended by authorities from the Armed Forces. Then there was another act during which the Antarctic joint commander, Captain Carlos Emilio Barili, received an image of the Virgin of Lujan to be transferred to the Corbeta Uruguay Antarctic scientific station, where it will be enthroned.
