Chinese company finishes longest tunnel for Indonesia's Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway

Drilling work has been completed for the longest tunnel for Indonesia’s Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway. The China Railway Engineering Group Ltd finished the 1,285-metre (4,215ft) long tunnel on November 15, 2020. The project to build Southeast Asia’s first high-speed railway is part of the Belt and Road Initiative, China’s plan for expanding global trade. Trains are expected to be running on the line by 2021.
