On April 26, 1986, the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine exploded and created the worst nuclear disaster the world has seen. Over 520 dangerous radionuclides caused contamination spread in the areas around. The United Nations adopted a resolution to declare April 26 as the International Chernobyl Disaster Remembrance Day.
