N. Korean man captured after crossing inter-Korean border: S. Korea's JCS

South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff said a North Korean man who had crossed the inter-Korean border was taken into custody earlier this morning... after he was detected by the military's surveillance equipment the day before.
The military raised its anti-infiltration alert level on the country's frontlines in its eastern region to the highest level during the search for the man.
The alert has now been lowered to its usual level following the man's capture.
There has been no unusual movement by the North Korean military up until now.
South Korean authorities are currently investigating the man, his identity and motive for crossing the border... including whether he's trying to defect.
