Chicago, 1968: There are more and more peaceful demonstrations shaped by the hippie culture around a party congress of the Democrats, which are primarily directed against the Vietnam War. But when the police finally imposed a curfew and enforced it with all their might, violent riots broke out for five days and nights. Hundreds of people are injured in the skirmish between the police, who use tear gas and batons, and the demonstrators - journalists also complain that they were beaten down by police officers.
