PEP Rewind: JM de Guzman tried living the life of a saint and got judged for it
  • 4 years ago
JM De Guzman celebrated his 31st birthday last September 9, hence this #FlashbackFriday post about him.

The talented Kapamilya actor addressed an issue about himself in his PEPtalk interview back in 2015.

PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) staff writers Rizza Lorraine Benedicto and Nherz Almo asked JM about the reported sightings of him wearing beggar's clothes, riding buses, singing and playing his guitar, and allegedly begging for coins from passengers.

This was back in 2013.

JM clarified he was preparing for his role as Filipino saint Pedro Calungsod during that time.

He was supposed to do the biographical film of the saint for the 2013 Metro Manila Film Festival.

JM later withdrew from that film citing health reasons.

That same year, he voluntarily entered a drug rehab program.

He returned to showbiz a year later.
