City of Joburg bribery allegations

A businessman accused of failing to deliver on an R8.5 million tender from the City of Johannesburg has been released on R50,000 bail. Esizwe director Deon Pillay appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court on charges of fraud, theft and corruption. He is accused of bribing a city official with a million rand to receive a delivery note for five hundred computers, which were never supplied.
