Dramatic footage shows tribes being rescued from floods in southern India

Heavy rainfall lashed the Nilgiris district in Tamil Nadu, southern India.
In Nilgiris' Kudaloor, intense rain has led to the inundation of a tribal area, and firefighters launched an operation to rescue the tribe trapped in floodwater and move them to a safer location.
Footage from Thursday (August 6) shows people being rescued safely, swimming over heavy flowing currents, secured by ropes.
Local media reports that Kudaloor had 35 centimetres of rain yesterday and 250 tribal families have been evacuated after power supply was completely shut down over the past few days.
