Sunbathers pack English beaches despite lockdown warning

Tens of thousands of people descended on beaches on the south coast of England on the hottest day of the year, despite Boris Johnson urging people to observe social distancing rules to avoid a second national lockdown. With many parts of the north of England facing a fresh lockdown and Johnson announcing he will postpone lockdown-easing measures after an increase in coronavirus cases, stretches of beaches at Bournemouth, Poole and Brighton were packed.
