Sushant Singh Rajput Was Desperate To Work With Big Banners, Says Anurag Kashyap

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has come out to share unknown facts in Sushant Singh Rajput case. He came out in support of Yash Raj Films and Dharma Productions and said that it was Sushant who was always desperate to work with big banners. Anurag told that he offered him two films but he rejected them to work with big production houses. This included film ‘Hasee Toh Phasee’. Anurag revealed in an interview, “YRF called him and said, ‘We’ll give you a deal. You do Shuddh Desi Romance.’ Sushant, who used to sit in my office with Mukesh (Chhabra) and all of us used to sit together, signed up with YRF and dropped Hasee Toh Phasee, a film of an outsider because he wanted validation from YRF. It’s with every actor, so I am not holding any grudges.” He further told, “Years later, in 2016, before the release of MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, Mukesh went to Sushant and said, ‘Anurag has written a script looking for an actor who can play someone based out of Uttar Pradesh.’ Dhoni released, became a success and he never called me back. I was not upset, I moved on, I did Mukkabaaz.” Anurag said that the outsiders who come in the film industry always want to work with big banners like Dharma, YRF and Sanjay Leela Bhansali. He said, “The boy was very talented but at that time, he chose Drive over a film that I was doing because he was dying to work with Dharma.” Well, Anurag has given a new perspective in this case which is going to contradict statements of many people including that of Kangana Ranaut.
