THIRUPARKADAL AMUDHAM IN THE EARTH. SAMUDRAMANDAN

Once upon a time, Indra Devan, the king of Deva-Loka, was riding in his vehicle, the Airavata Elephant. At that time, Durvasa sage came to worship. Durvasa also offered Indra a garland. Indra kept the mantle of his vehicle, the elephant's ivory. Because of the smell, the insects were in the evening, the elephant jumped off the mountain. When Durvasar saw this and cursed all those in the heavens for fear of humiliation, they lost their power. Thus the Asuras rejoiced and fought the gods and all the gods in their control.

To alleviate this tragedy, the gods prayed to the three deities. Thinking that he could get the power lost by drinking amrita in the sea, Lord Vishnu, by his magic, called on the Asuras to help him overcome the sea. Mahalakshmi, Apsaras, Varuni, Kamadhenu, Kalpavriksha etc. were received at the sea crossing by the Devas and Asuras. The materials received were used by them.

Bhagavan Dhavandri appeared with Amrita Kalasam at the end. Sri Vishnu intended to offer the amrita only to the gods. There was a twelve-day war between the gods and the Asuras for the Amrita Kalasam. A year in heaven is a day in heaven.
In this fight, the drops from the Amrita Gang fell to the Amritam earth. Bhagavan Sri Vishnu received the Kumbakalasam and offered Amritam to the Asuras. Originally, the true Amrit was given to the seven planets of gods. At that time Swarnabhanu, a monster, dressed as the Gods and sat in the queue and got a little amir. The sun and the moon, which were discovered by their luminous powers, told Sri Vishnu. Sri Vishnu cut Swarnabhanu's neck with his Sudarshana wheel. Thus the neck was divided into a different body. Because of the elixir of life, the body of the demon monster was alive. As the head became a human body and a body snake, he became known as Rahu and became one of the new planets. As the body is a human body, the head of the snake is placed on the planet Ketu.

Four drops of earth fell on the Prayag, the Haridwar, the Nasik (Triyambak-Godavari), and the Shipra river at Ujjain, where the Amritam Ganga Yamuna Saraswati is located. Legends say that once in twelve years, the people of these four rivers have their sins covered by the holy waters.

During the life of Sri Adi Sankara, he made known all over the world the details of these shrines and gathered all the Hindu religious leaders in these holy places and held the Hindu religious ceremonies for spiritual discussions. Kumbh Mela has been going on ever since.
These sacred sites will be covered with water and will be cleansed of sins.
