Scottish Pakistanis are making rich contributions to the cultural, political and entrepreneurial life of the country. There are many multi-talented Scotistanis who are not only an inspiration for others but bring pride and honour to their adopted home and their country of origin .One such Scotistani is Dr Hasan Beg, who lives in Kirkcaldy and served as a Consultant Otolaryngologist with NHS Fife and Spire Murrayfield Hospital Edinburgh from 1996 to 2010.
Dr Beg is an elected Fellow of the Royal Asiatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland since December 2011.His interests are history, literature and poetry.He has edited and published many books on history and contributed articles for newspapers and magazines. Dr Beg paid tribute to Scotland’s national bard Robert Burns by translating his much loved poem, My Love is like a Red Red rose into Urdu.

Scotistani aims to connect the diverse communities in Scotland as well as the Pakistani diaspora worldwide. Our objective is to promote cultural, educational and commercial ties between Scotland and Pakistan and celebrate all things - Scottish, Pakistani and Scotistani....
