This lovely nocturne, known in Chinese as “Liang Xiao” is one of the most popular works composed by the early 20th century erhu virtuoso and educator Liu Tianhua (1895-1932). Chang Jing has replaced Liu’s original erhu with a cello, whose rich tenor voice joins the Guzheng’s shimmering arpeggios to describe a lovely moonlit scene.
