Rainstorm caused a four-metre-deep flood in a Chinese southern city on May 6.

The video shows that streets were flooded, cars on road were covered by rainwater on the roof. Pedestrians were walking in the waist-high water.

Some low-lying areas were submerged by rain, even reaching four metres deep in some areas with houses and vehicles flooded. The flood has entered the first floor of more than 30 houses.

The 24-hour rainfall of Huaihua City in Hunan Province had reached 137 millimetres, causing flooding in many places.

Yuanling County made an emergency deployment to carry out waterlogging, emergency rescue and set up fences for dangerous areas.

The storm that started from 3 a.m. and ended at 10:30 a.m. It’s reported that the torrential rain affected a total of 3,164 people, 242.733 hectares of crops, and 4 houses collapsed, 302 were houses damaged. Direct economic losses are 18.814 million yuan.
