“#NoFilter” features a couple’s key to a successful connection as it presents the story of newly-wedded couple Emilson Gole Cruz and Kathleen Añonuevo, which started with love at first sight. Emil and Kathleen’s romance started at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, where Emil planned ways to get to know Kathleen, and where the two became an official couple 10 months after Emilson started courting her. After earning a bachelor's degree in civil engineering respectively, the two started a long-distance relationship but were reunited six months later in Singapore. As they work on their relationship despite the fights and adversities, the couple planned a trip to Japan where Emilson proposed to Kathleen. But amid the excitement of being a newly-engaged couple, Emilson and Kathleen were faced with a major test of commitment after the latter was diagnosed with leukemia in 2019.
