An hour drive north of Auckland lies the Goat Island Marine Reserve, some of the best snorkeling in the North Island. The fish love to follow you around while you explore this protected cove! A long beach provides plenty of sun for your family on shore as well as rocky outcrops for tide pool discoveries. There's plenty to do nearby, with the Ti Point Reptile Park, the Matakana Market, the Matakana Country Park petting zoo, and Charlies Gelato. A fantastic day trip for the whole family.
