Timothy Pohl, one of three Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom co-heads has announced he will leave the firm to join a restructuring group at Lazard.
Pohl will leave the firm next month to join as a managing director.
Forty-two year old Pohl was just promoted to co-head of the firm's restructuring group last spring.
The legal industry is experiencing a boom in restructuring and bankruptcy work, but is taking Pohl's departure well. Fellow co-head J. Gregory Milmoe said, "Tim is a spectacular lawyer and a wonderful human being and while we wish him well, we will miss him enormously."
