It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at London Zoo as lemurs and monkeys are given their festive gifts

Christmas came early to the animals at London Zoo on Monday morning (December 16), as the cuddly critters were gifted their annual festive presents by generous zookeepers.

The zoo’s squirrel monkeys woke up to find a new Christmas climbing frame under the trees, decorated with edible gifts.

In Tiger Territory, Sumatran tiger Asim pounced on brightly wrapped presents filled with his favourite turkey wings, while the zoo’s ring-tailed lemurs found some hanging stockings, stuffed with veggie trimmings.

Angela Ryan, Animal Operations Manager at ZSL London, explained the animals would be "tearing up their stockings and finding their treats."
