    by employmentcrossing

According to the Jobless Claims report, businesses are letting go of employers at an alarming rate, forcing many to apply for unemployment benefits. The staggering number of people in need of these benefits has risen by 338,000 and currently stands at 4.43 million, the highest it has been since 1983.
When compared to the same week one year ago, continuing claims are up by 58 percent, while new jobless claims are up by approximately 59 percent, and finding a job appears harder than ever.
