Here Are the Chances for the Whole U.S. The National Oceanic and AtmosphericAdministration (NOAA) released a mappredicting which parts of the countrywill have snow on Christmas Day. The results come from analyzingweather patterns from 1981 to 2010. According to the NOAA, areas in the northern part of the country are the most likely to have snowfall. Parts of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Maine,Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, and Coloradohave a 100% historical probability of at leastone inch of snow on Christmas. The majority of the Deep South, West Coast,and Gulf Coast have less than a 10% chance. The Midwest and Great Plains have abouta 50% chance, depending on the area. The NOAA recommends checking your localforecast closer to Christmas Day to be certainof what the holiday will look like in your area.
