Swedish authorities announced
the end to their inquiry into the
Wikileaks founder on Tuesday.
The evidence is not strong enough
to form the basis of an indictment, Eva-Marie Persson, Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions, via 'The New York Times'.
In such a situation, the preliminary
investigation should be
discontinued, and that is

The assault accusations of two women
prompted the investigation, which began in 2010.
Persson confirmed the credibility
of the accuser's accusations but
stated that the "evidential situation
has been weakened.".
When a warrant was issued for Assange's arrest,
he claimed asylum in the Ecuadorian Embassy
in London. Assange lived in the embassy for seven years.
Ecuador revoked his asylum in April
after which Assange was arrested by London police.
He remains in a British jail
awaiting U.S. extradition hearings.

part in the breach of classified data
