If You Haven’t Noticed,The Label on All YourFood Is Changing Beginning January 1st, 2020, large foodmanufacturers must be in compliance withthe FDA’s new nutrition facts label design. The most visible change is the increasedsize and bold font used to call out caloriesper serving and serving sizes. Sugars are now broken intotwo categories—total and added. Vitamins A and C are no longermandatory, but vitamin D,potassium, calcium, and iron are. Food packages small enough that they couldbe eaten all at once even though they containmultiple servings will have dual-columns. This label update will help you makechoices that best fit the way you eat.
