Instagram is banning all filters that give any effect of plastic surgery On Oct. 18th, Spark AR announced it will ban "all effects associated with plastic surgery" from the Instagram’s Effect Gallery. It’s part of the company’s "well-being policies." Banned effects will include any that make users look like they’ve had cosmetic surgeries. Facebook commenters predict thatuser-generated filters, like "Plastica"and "Bad Botox," will be removed. Your dog ears and vomiting rainbowsfilters are probably safe. Spark AR and Instagram have already removed the "Fix Me" filter that added pre-surgery pen marks on a person’s face. The company vows to continue toremove "policy-violating effects" asthey’re tracked down and flagged. Hopefully, these changes can help support a healthier self-image, but we know there’s still a lot more to work on.
