As part of efforts to contain the African swine fever outbreak, the South Korean military has flown in helicopters for the second day to spray disinfectant over the inter-Korean border area.
Seoul's defense ministry said the use of helicopters and the shooting of wild boars that cross over barbed-wire fencing at the DMZ... was approved by the United Nations Command.
It said a notification was sent to North Korea of its week-long quarantine operation to contain the outbreak.
The preventative measures by the military were initiated... after a carcass of an infected wild boar was found inside the DMZ earlier this week.
