. Like a lot of big event books it’s hard to really make any judgments after the first issue. One thing that did surprise me though, was that a lot of people died. Nightcrawler, beast, Wasp, maybe Johnny, Sue and Doctor Storm, and a lot of people all around the world. That is a big chance to take in a universe. I mean they killed off almost half of their characters. If the storms are really dead how can the fantastic four title really go on? It’s not the fantastic duo or “Stretcho and Thing” save the world. There will always be new X-Men to fill out the roster but those were a couple of very significant characters to kill off so non chelauntly. This is looking to be a big deal and the question of will how they are going to move forward with the ultimate universe is reason enough alone to stick with it. The art is great in this book and the image of Magneto witting on his thrown in genohsa that we’ve seen plastered all over the books the last few weeks is incredibly powerful and gallery worthy. I’m curious though why he has a big old school thor hammer next to him. The tag line at the end of this issue is “Next: It gets worse. That I’m interested to see because things are pretty bad as it is. Distributed by Tubemogul.
