Koreans' boycott of Japan has led to a huge fall in the number of tours to the country.
According to South Korean travel agency Mode Tour,… demand for tours in Japan in September dropped by just over 90% on-year.
Instead, people chose to go to Southeast Asia countries such as Malaysia,... which saw a 50% increase on-year in tour bookings.
As people traveling to Japan decreased,… the number of roaming service users in Japan also dropped, with KT Corporation reporting on Wednesday a 45 percent on-year decrease in users during the week of Korea's major Chuseok holiday.
