On his return to India after a week-long visit to the US, Prime Minister Narendra Modi recalled the cross-border surgical strikes of 2016 and hailed the special forces who carried out the highly risky operation on this day three years back targeting terror camps in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Recalling the operation assumes significance as the comments come amidst war hysteria created by Pakistan with its attempts to push in terrorists to carry out attacks in the Indian territory.
