Third Kim-Trump summit will "create new order of denuclearization on Korean Peninsula": President Moon

Our top story this morning...
President Moon Jae-in says he anticipates successful nuclear negotiations between North Korea and the U.S. going forward.
He also says he hopes the next North Korea-U.S. summit be a page-turning event in the Korean peace process.
He made the comments as he met for the ninth time with his U.S. counterpart, Donald Trump.
We connect live to our Shin Se-min, who is in New York.
Se-min, both leaders expressed high hopes for a third summit between Kim Jong-un and President Trump.

Right.
For one, President Moon expressed anticipation that a third big meeting between the leaders of North Korea and the U.S. will be a world-class breakthrough.
His remarks come as the regime said this month that it's willing to resume working-level nuclear talks with the U.S. as soon as possible.
But first, let's hear what President Moon said on Monday.

"I anticipate working-level talks between North Korea and the U.S. to set the groundwork for a third North Korea-U.S. summit. If the summit takes place, it will be a huge breakthrough and achievement, creating a new order of denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula."

And President Trump, on the same page as his South Korean counterpart,... boasted of his personal relationship with the North Korean leader and saying that Kim is a man of his words.

"Frankly he has lived up to his words on those things we discussed. We actually signed an agreement in Singapore. We actually have two very good meetings."

But unlike previous meetings between Moon and Trump,... the U.S. leader refrained from giving a definite yes to a third Kim-Trump summit,... quite a contrast to his previous comments,... but he said he will see what happens.

Apart from parallel stances on the Korean peace process- the two leaders also delved into their bilateral alliance.
Tell us about that.

Right from the get go, President Trump said both South Korea and the U.S. are making a lot of progress on trade deals,… adding he'd liked to do some additional things on trade - indicating more deals could be in the pipeline.
He also mentioned how Seoul is one of the largest buyers of military equipment from the United States.
Adding to that,… the South Korean leader highlighted a 15-year deal between South Korea's state-run gas corporation KOGAS and BP to buy over one-and-a-half million tons of U.S. liquefied natural gas from 2025.
The South Korean presidential office said such a massive business deal between the allies will strengthen their bilateral ties even further.
