Software giant SAP looking to double staff in PH

MANILA, Philippines - SAP, one of the world's largest software companies, is looking to double the number of employees it has in the Philippines. Adaire Fox-Martin, newly appointed president of SAP Asia-Pacific and Japan, the company is "very excited" about its prospects in the Philippines. "We've been 19 years here in the Philippines. We have two offices here, and we have a number of services based from our Philippine offices. And we are looking to double the amount of staff that we have here in the Philippines," she said on ANC's Inside Business. SAP runs its human resources service, which caters to its employees in Asia Pacific, from the Philippines. Fox-Martin said SAP is also establishing a small "call center" operation in the country which would open up sales and marketing jobs. "Here in the Philippines, what we have invested in is, from a call center perspective, what we call in SAP, a project nucleus. It's effectively an incubation of our tele-sales services from the Philippines to its customers across the region. It's the opportunity to have the talent, young talent and that really attracted us to build this in the Philippines," she said. Initially, there will be 50 staff for this "nucleus". "We are going to start off with a small nucleus and we're going to double it and double it as it continues to grow... They will be people, who on the phone, represent all of the countries in the region the value that SAP brings," she said.
