MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested Chinese national Weimou Shi, alias “Jeson Sy,” after a buy-bust operation in Quezon City last Saturday night. PDEA says nearly two kilos of shabu worth P10-million, hidden in tea bags, were seized from the suspect. The agency says there will be no let-up in its operations even during the holidays. Last Thursday, PDEA along with the Philippine National Police confirmed that the Mexican Sinaloa drug cartel, one of the world’s most powerful drug trafficking organizations, is already operating in the Philippines. Three people allegedly linked to Sinaloa were arrested in Batangas, while drugs worth nearly P500-million were seized. News Now, ANC, December 29, 2013.
