Senate postpones caucus on Napoles subpoena

MANILA - The Senate has postponed a scheduled caucus on whether or not they would issue a subpoena for businesswoman Janet Lim Napoles in the inquiry on the P10 billion pork barrel scam. Senate President Franklin Drilon said several senators could not make it to Monday's caucus due to sickness while others were abroad. The caucus has been rescheduled to Wednesday. Drilon earlier decided not to sign the subpoena, which drew flak from Blue Ribbon Committee chairman TG Guingona who requested the subpoena. Drilon has cited the Ombudsman's legal opinion that it is not advisable at this time for Napoles to testify at the Senate because of the pending cases filed in connection with the scam. The Ombudsman later said it is up to the Senate to decide on the matter. Report by Ron Gagalac, ABS-CBN News
