US gives P1-B to PH to fund projects for inclusive growth

The US Agency for International Development releases almost P1 billion in fresh grant to the Philippines ahead of President Barack Obama's visit. US Ambassador Harry Thomas said the P984 million peso grant will fund projects that will make growth more inclusive, boost small business start-ups, curb labor abuse and increase literacy especially in conflict-affected areas in Mindanao. Obama is scheduled to visit the Philippines on October 11-12. Mornings@ANC, October 1, 2013
