People of all professions have problems. Being a teacher or lawyer or priest or therapist doesn't exclude people from their issues or the unhealthy ways people sometimes deal with them. Take alcohol abuse, for example. There is no profession that preserves people from the problem of alcoholism. Holding people of a pedestal doesn't take away their humanity. In fact, drugs and alcohol can be a coping mechanism, ineffective though it is, for people who have a hard time revealing their problems to others. All those who suffer from alcohol abuse deserve our compassion, but also a willingness to not collude with them in their addiction.
