Dozens of pro-democracy protesters in Hong Kong have been charged with rioting. Their supporters braved gale-force winds and driving rain to attend the hearing at Hong Kong's Eastern Magistrate's Court. Earlier, the announcement that 44 people would be charged with rioting, an offense that carries a maximum jail term of 10 years, sparked further clashes between demonstrators and police.
