Hong Kong police refuse permission for march against gang violence targeting protesters

The Hong Kong Police Force has rejected plans for a  march this weekend to protest against mob violence that took place in Yuen Long last Sunday. The march scheduled for July 27 is planned in the same northern district where the violence occurred at an MTR station on July 21, 2019.  Police said they turned down the protest application to ensure public order and safety, and protect local residents.  Despite the police decision, organisers vow to go ahead with the march.
