Beat the heat: 3 summer festivals for weekend

Time for our "Life & Info" segment,... where we focus on information useful for your everyday life.
Today we're going to talk about some summer festivals happening this weekend in Korea.
We have our Kan Hyeong-woo in the studio to tell us more.
Ok, Hyeong-woo, event number one, what do you have for us?
Well I have the Hwacheon Jjokbae Festival. Jjokbae means 'raft' in Korean. It's a summer festival where you can see uniquely-shaped boats floating on the Hwacheongang River in Gangwon-do Province.
The festival begins this Saturday and runs through August 4th.
With the festival taking place along the river,... there are a number of hands-on activities, including water biking, kayaking and canoeing.
As the name of the festival 'Jjokbae' suggests,... the highlight is the 'create your own raft' contest next Saturday.
Anyone can follow the instructions and submit their rafts through the official website, but the deadline is tomorrow Friday at 6PM.
The prize for the winner is 17-hundred U.S. dollars.
That's a nice incentive to do a good job. That'd more than pay for your weekend partying. So we have the raft festival and all that goes with it. If we feel like something else, what other options do we have?
There's the Bonghwa Euneo(Sweetfish) Festival... Euneo means sweetfish. It's taking place in Gyeongsangbuk-do Province to celebrate the local product of high quality sweetfish. This festival also starts on Saturday and runs until August 4th, just like the Hwacheon Jjokbae Festival so maybe go to both if you can.
The sweetfish caught along the Naeseongcheon Stream in Bonghwa-gun was given to the king as a local tribute during the Joseon Dynasty.
The festival provides numerous programs for visitors... including, of course, scoop net fishing and bare hand fishing.
Charcoal grills are set up for visitors to cook the sweetfish they caught.
For those interested, there is a 'scoop net fishing contest' on August 3rd.
The person who catches the most sweetfish in twenty minutes will be awarded about eight-hundred fifty U.S. dollars.
Wow. Maybe I should start going to these festivals to earn some extra cash on the side. Out of the first two, I like the sound of that one better, cooking fish you just caught is a lot of fun. I know you prepared three summer festivals for us today so give us the lowdown on the last one.
For those of you who live in Seoul and don't feel like going the relatively long distance to get to the two festivals I mentioned, there is a perfect alternative.
It's the Gwangjin-gyo Bridge Water Gun Festival in Seoul.
As the name suggests, it's a water gun festival that will take place on a bridge above the Hangang River.
The festival is this Sunday from 2 to 7PM.
Participants can bring their own water guns but if you don't have one, you can rent one when you get there.
