Japanese motley crew slips knots into victory at the world’s first-ever Heavy Metal Knitting Championship

Finland has just hosted the first Heavy Metal Knitting World Championship. While heavy metal music may not seem an obvious match for knitting, avid artists from nine countries stitched up some passionate and dramatic performances on July 11, 2019, at the world’s first Heavy Metal Knitting World Championship. Top honours went to the Giga Body Metal team, a five-person metal band from Japan.
