S. Korea, U.S. begin first consultation under KORUS FTA

South Korea and the U.S. have begun official discussions in Seoul, at Washington's request, about the treatment of American companies in Korea.
Specifically, local media reports say it's about the tech company Qualcomm, which faces big fines here.
But Korean government officials say it's not about any one company.
The trade ministry in Seoul says the talks relate to the investigation procedures of Korea's Fair Trade Commission.
Under the Korea-U.S. FTA, the two sides are allowed to request official consultations with, but this is the first time it's happened in seven years.
